My Venture into the Unknown: L'herboriste amateur

AN EARLY DISCLAIMER: Any projects I work on and share with you here are chosen with regard to aiding my own health and/or that of my husband. I do my own research before jumping straight in. I am NOT a specialist thus it is definitely not a simple ‘trial and error’ hobby for me. Please do your own research and if necessary seek professional advice.

Images below are snapshots, memories from 2024, the time when I really stepped into the hedgerow. It has always been there; I have the childhood recollections. The aroma, the organic intoxication, the scent that drew you in, the exotic looking caterpillars that mesmerised, captivating your attention. Those tender age experiences cease somewhere on the daunting road to adulthood - because we simply have to grow up. But what stops us from returning to them once again?

Nothing. You can even enjoy a nature walk vicariously.

When people pass by me on our rural paths I sometimes look at them and think, “Gosh, your perfume/cologne is so overpowering, you will miss the fragrance from the privet that you pass,” or “I see that you are listening to music on your phone, you could hear the current birdsong track, it’s such a treat.” Each to their own, we find what makes us happy or what we think makes us happy.

Anyway, I am rabbity so I will continue to work on my hobbies and let you know how things progress. It’s been rather blustery of late so I may consider buying a kite. I recently saw a young family attempting to fly theirs and a smile landed itself on my face. I was too far away to thank them personally and given that they might think me odd I just offered it to the breeze instead…
